Demographic Data for Snohomish County
Mill Creek is located in the Puget Sound Region which is comprised of four counties; King, Kitsap, Pierce and Snohomish with a total population of 4,203,400 in 2019.
As of August 2019, according to the Puget Sound Regional Council, Snohomish County, which had been the fastest-growing county in 2018, dipped to second place (behind Pierce County) with a 1.7% growth rate and added 13,580 to its populace for a total of 818,700 people.
Similar to the United States as a whole, the data revealed that the central Puget Sound region is undergoing a major demographic transformation as baby boomers – people born between 1946 and 1964 – cross into the 65+ category.
The share of seniors is projected to increase steadily to 18% around the year 2030 when the last baby boomer turns 65 and is expected to remain at that level through 2050.
This is a big increase compared to the past several decades when the share of seniors was between 9% and 11%.
