City Manager Michael Ciaravino announces the appointment of Jody Hawkins as the newest Communications and Marketing Coordinator for the City of Mill Creek, joining Scott Harder, recently hired in the same role. Hawkins will also be responsible for coordinating and planning community outreach, nurturing working relationships with other organizations, non-profits and coordinating activities to help develop and maintain effective communications with our internal and external community of stakeholders.
“Jody Hawkins brings an impressive set of credentials and experience with fresh energy and passion to our communications and marketing mission. Her creativity will contribute greatly to our plans to innovate, improve and expand the core strengths of the entire department,” said City Manager Michael Ciaravino.
Hawkins is a longtime Everett resident and proud graduate of Everett Community College and Washington State University (WSU) Everett – with a bachelor's degree in Integrated Strategic Communications.
As a communications and marketing specialist, Hawkins enjoyed five years at Boeing Future of Flight, formerly the Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour. She held multiple roles, including Public Relations & Social Media Associate Director and Marketing Director.
Additionally, Hawkins raised her family in the Silver Firs neighborhood near Mill Creek and spent more than ten years in marketing, customer service, and sales for Chicago Title and Pacific Northwest Title before graduating from WSU.
“My greatest professional joy has always been working directly with the public, and I am genuinely excited for the opportunity to bring my experience and love of people to this new role for the City of Mill Creek! Quarantine changed us, and in many ways, opened us up to our neighbors and communities in ways we could never have imagined. I am thankful for the timing of this new opportunity and eager to join a team so committed to embracing their community, as is The City of Mill Creek,” said Hawkins.
