The Mill Creek City Council welcomed two new members during its City Council Meeting on November 23, 2021. Connie Allison, elected to Position No. 3 attended the meeting in person, and Melissa Duque, elected to Position No. 6 attended via Zoom, both were sworn in by Mayor Brian Holtzclaw.

Councilmember Allison is an eleven-year resident of Mill Creek and a lifelong resident of Western Washington. Allison has enjoyed a career at Boeing, working in Engineering and Program Management, where she is currently leading a team in Boeing Global Services. Allison holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from City University of Seattle.

Allison will strive to ensure Mill Creek remains a safe and fiscally sound City – by supporting policies that ensure the City will be strong now and in the future.

She enjoys knitting, fishing on the Puget Sound, traveling, and learning about new cultures in her downtime. Connie's term expires on December 31, 2025

Councilmember Duque is committed to ensuring Mill Creek continues to be a community where people feel safe, have access to green spaces, and where residents and businesses flourish. She has volunteered with the City over the last few years and has recently been Chair of Mill Creek's Parks & Recreation Board.

Professionally, Duque is a project manager with a background in communication strategy and more than a decade of working with nonprofits and foundations. "I know that effective communication is a two-way street," said Duque. "For us to continue to be a thriving community, we need to listen and engage with residents."

Duque and her husband have two adventurous young boys, and as a family, enjoy the many parks and recreational programs the City has to offer. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and History from California State University, Long Beach.
