Mill Creek Snow Route MapThe City of Mill Creek Public Works Department is monitoring the National Weather Service winter storm watch in effect from Feb. 12 until Feb. 13, 2021.

As a precautionary measure, the pre-treatment of applying deicer to arterial routes within the city limits, including SR-527 and SR-96, has started in preparation of freezing conditions and snow. Procedures are in alignment with Snohomish County Road Maintenance.

Upon accumulation of snow, the Public Works team will mobilize to clear the roadways. Protocols include plowing and sanding priority routes first, and then to supplemental access roads. The Public Works team will plow or sand roads in neighborhoods once the priority routes are clear and safe for drivers.

Snow showers are expected in the Mill Creek area starting Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon, with the possibility of a snow-rain mix thereafter.

In the event of inclement weather, please stay off the roadways unless necessary. If you must drive, slow down when driving on snowy, icy or slick roads. Allow additional time to arrive at your destination. Other safety reminders, include:
• Bring your pets indoors;
• Wear appropriate winter clothing to avoid cold weather injuries;
• Maintain an adequate supply of medications and other necessary supplies;
• Report any traffic or community safety issues to the Mill Creek Police non-emergency number at 425-407-3999;
• Report any broken tree limbs or other hazard to the City of Mill Creek at 425-745-1891 or report through the city website at www.cityofmillcreek.com.

The City’s goal is to provide a safe community with accessible roads in Mill Creek during inclement weather.
