The City Hall has several community rooms used by the public for meetings, gatherings and classes. In an effort to stop the increased spread of coronavirus, the City of Mill Creek has suspended its community room rentals until further notice.
The likelihood of someone contracting COVID-19 is greater when they gather with others who are not members of their own household. While Snohomish County remains in Phase 2 under the State’s Safe Start protocols, groups of five people or less are mandated. Under these guidelines, attending an event or meeting in a small space in groups larger than five people is not permitted at this time.
Mill Creek’s current policy mirrors those in other cities in Snohomish and King counties where rentals and community and special events have been canceled or will only be allowed to resume under Phase 4. Currently, plans to allow counties to reach Phase 4 have been put on hold by Gov. Jay Inslee and the Secretary of the Washington State Department of Health due to recent increased COVID-19 infection rates. The City will review the policy again once it enters Phase 3.
