Winter Storm Update; Jan. 13

Mill Creek Winter Storm Update; Jan. 13
Posted on 01/13/2020

The City continues to closely monitor the inclement weather moving into the week. Crews are continuing to work around the clock to assist in further snow removal and public safety measures.

The following is a list of current road conditions and issues the City is addressing:

  1. Primary and secondary roads are wet and bare after being plowed and sanded overnight and into the morning. Many neighborhood roads are still packed with slush and ice and will likely not be able to be addressed with the City’s current resources.
  2. Fallen trees and tree limbs are currently being removed on secondary and primary roads. Please use caution around trees as the branches will become heavier as the temperatures drop.
  3. Many Town Center businesses are open and have experienced plowing and sanding either on the roadways or in parking lots.
  4. As crews focus time and efforts on roads and fallen tree branches, the City asks that residents and business owners clear their sidewalks if they are able to safely do so.
  5. Freezing temperatures and more snow is expected over the next 24-48 hours. Prepare for black ice, slush and compact snow this evening and into tomorrow morning.
  6. Residents should also prepare for the potential of flooding once the snow begins to melt. Please take time to identify any storm drains in front of your home and keep them as clear as possible over the next few days.
  7. Stock up on medications, food, water and any other supplies potentially needed to get through the rest of the week.
  8. Please practice extreme caution when driving and plan for additional travel time.

Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
