Seattle Hill Road Preservation Project

Description: The Seattle Hill Road Preservation Project will repair damaged asphalt, median curbs, upgrade curb ramps and install needed pedestrian signals. In 2016, the road pavement condition index (PCI) was rated at 59 on a scale from 0 to 100. The current PCI is lower than it was in 2016, most likely a score in the mid to low 50s. If the City delays the project any longer, instead of a roadway rehabilitation project a roadway reconstruction project will be needed. The latter is more costly and takes longer to complete. With more than 16,000 people using Seattle Hill Road every day, it is essential that the City complete this project. The COVID-19 pandemic and shutdown has given the City the window needed to complete this project with minimum impact to the public.
Project Details: Grind and overlay new asphalt, replace damaged median curbs, upgrade ADA curb ramps and install accessible pedestrian signals at two intersections between Village Green Drive and 35th Ave SE.
