The City of Mill Creek began work June 1 making upgrades and repairs to Heron Park.

The City will replace Heron Park’s picnic shelter roof and playground equipment, make repairs to the parking lot for American Disabilities Act compliance and perform other maintenance tasks.

Contractors from Neptune Marine LLC are scheduled to complete the work by mid-August. The Mill Creek City Council awarded the project bid to the Mount Vernon-based contractor earlier this year. The project budget is $410,000.

The park’s green space is open to the public. The picnic shelter and parking lot, as well as playground equipment, are closed.

Heron Park is one of 10 parks located in Mill Creek. It is fairly secluded and is located between Village Green Drive and 155th Street SE.
