City Hires New Finance Director

BalentineMill Creek City Manager Michael Ciaravino has hired Jeffrey Balentine as the city's new finance director.

Mr. Balentine brings 15 years of local government experience to Mill Creek. His background and skills range from the non-profit sector, manufacturing and service-related commercial industries, military service and training, and local government support with an emphasis on finance, human resources, information technology (IT), marketing, and contract management.

Early in his career, Mr. Balentine served in the United States Army and earned a bachelor's degree in business management. He worked in finance, procurement, operations, supply chain, and accounting for some Fortune 500 companies. In 2005, Mr. Balentine founded and managed his own company focused on local government consulting, finance, contract and administration support, federal government training, federal government IT administration, web design and engineering support, mobile gaming applications, and foodservice.

Ciaravino said he is impressed that Mr. Balentine has "rolled up his sleeves" and immediately provided a valuable impact to the city, supporting the departments, providing IT support, and financial expertise, especially during the current health crisis. Ciaravino also noted Mr. Balentine's ability to jump in and successfully develop relationships with the city’s team.

"We are pleased with the breadth of knowledge and skill that Jeff brings to the city of Mill Creek,” Ciaravino said. “His knowledge of local government operations are second to none and the residents of Mill Creek will reap the benefits of that knowledge. We are expecting great things out of Jeff."
