The skate park portion of the park remains closed (date of reopening still TBD) while safety netting is installed.

Mill Creek Little League takes the field tonight for its inaugural game under the lights.

The Mill Creek Sports Park opened in 2004 and has been the City’s most popular recreational facility, serving more than 3,800 youth annually. The renovation included new field turf, which replaced the previous turf that lasted five years past its expected useful life. The new Musco light emitting diode (LED) lighting system will cut energy costs while reducing light pollution to the neighboring residents. An upgraded PA system will provide clearer sound. The City also added a 60-inch ADA-compliant gate to serve as a primary entrance from the main parking lot, replaced field fencing and netting, and added kick boards at the field and skate park.

Funding support for the upgrades was provided by the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) in the amount of $250,000 and Snohomish County in the amount of $100,000.
