Generic News ImageSnohomish County PUD is replacing high-pressure sodium street light bulbs to much more efficient LED bulbs starting in the Mill Creek Town Center area. The new bulbs have a 70 percent energy savings with improved reliability and a brighter output.

PUD is in its third year of this project to replace approximately 7,000 street lights in the Bothell, Mill Creek and Lynnwood area. Approximately 800 lights are on the list to be replaced in Mill Creek throughout the summer.

“We are excited to see the project finally reach the Mill Creek area,” said Gina Hortillosa, director of Public Works and Development Services. “Replacing these lights means greater pedestrian and driver safety on our streets with much improved visibility.”

The work has already commenced in Mill Creek and will continue into the summer. Those with questions or concerns about the new lighting are asked to call Snohomish PUD at (425) 783-1000 or visit www.snopud.com/?p=1736.
