The CFP is a financial plan that identifies City Capital Projects over a seven-year period with estimated costs, funding sources, and schedules. In Mill Creek, the CFP typically includes projects for parks, public buildings, drainage and transportation. The majority of the projects are funded by the City.
The CFP is updated every other year, to coincide with the City’s biennial budget process. The first two-years of the updated CFP will be incorporated into the 2011-2012 budget. The current 2009-2015 CFP can be examined at City Hall or on the City’s website www.cityofmillcreek.com by clicking on the Public Works Department.
The projects and purchases included in the CFP generally have an anticipated cost of at least $15,000 and an expected life of more than 10 years. However, the City is open to all reasonable suggestions for improvements regardless of dollar value. Proposed projects will be reviewed by the CFP committee, which includes three City Councilmembers, two Planning Commissioners, the City Manager and Finance Director. They will prioritize projects and forward their recommendations to the City Council, which will review and adopt the CFP at a public hearing. Due to funding limitations, not all suggested projects will be included in the CFP.
