If
you are a dog owner, pick up after your pet and dispose of it properly.
-
If
you own property along a stream, call the City of Mill Creek and ask how you
can improve shading, thus reducing water temperature in our creeks.
-
Use
garden and lawn chemicals sparingly and with care or not at all. There
are alternatives available that do not harm fish.
-
Remove
litter (i.e., lawn clippings, trash) around the creek when you see it.
Look into composting at home or paying for yard waste pick-up.
-
Take
your car to be washed at a commercial car wash or wash your car using soap
sparingly and direct soapy water to a gravel or lawn area. Soapy water
from cars washed on the street or on your driveway drains into our creeks
and harms fish.
-
Volunteer
to stencil "Dump no waste. Drains to stream." on catch
basins in your neighborhood. If you are interested in volunteering
your time, please call City Hall at (425) 745-1891.
