City HallDepartmentsCommunityServicesHow Do I...?
What if I have been bitten by a dog?
Always call 911 and an animal control or police officer will be dispatched to the scene. Attempt to get as much information about the animal, including details about the animal as well as the owner’s name and address.

If a dog is running at large and the owner is not present, please remember which direction the dog is running. This information will help an Animal Control Officer to find and secure the dog.

We will investigate an incident, take a report, statements and photos, contact the dog’s owner and, if necessary, place quarantine on the animal for ten days or more.
