Community Development is divided into long-range and operational planning.  Long-range planning includes the preparation, update and monitoring of the City’s Comprehensive Plan and development regulations, coordination of planning efforts with surrounding jurisdictions, and involvement in regional growth strategies.  Operational planning deals with the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan through the administration of public and private land use proposals to enhance the City’s built environment.
