Pedestrian Hit By Two Vehicles While Crossing 132nd in Mill Creek

Update as of 12:00 a.m. on 9/9/17: 132nd Street SE is now reopened in both directions.

A 16-year-old female crossing 132nd Street SE in Mill Creek on Friday night about 8:30 p.m. was hit by two separate vehicles and sustained traumatic injuries. The roadway is currently closed in both directions while an investigation takes place.

The young lady was attempting to cross the roadway in the middle of the 3300 block, where no crosswalk exists near the Thomas Lake shopping center. The roadway also is dark in this location. As she stood in the median, a truck headed in the eastbound direction was turning left and knocked her off the median into westbound traffic. She was then hit again by another vehicle, which was headed westbound.

Mill Creek Police and Snohomish Fire District 1 were dispatched to the scene. Due to her injuries, the young lady was transported in an ambulance to Harborview Medical Center.

Mill Creek Police’s Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the incident. Police report that there is no indication of drugs or alcohol involved. Drivers of both vehicles remained at the scene and are cooperating with police.
