The 31st annual Run of the Mill 5K will take place in Mill Creek on Saturday, June 24, starting at 9 a.m. The race is expected to attract 600 to 800 participants.

Registration is available online. The cost to register is $35 for adults ages 19 and older, $25 for youth ages 11-18, $10 for kids ages 6-10, and free for kids up to age five. Limited day-of-race registrations are available starting at 7 a.m. next to the Columbia Funding Mortgage information booth at 15418 Main Street in Mill Creek Town Center.

The run begins just south of University Bookstore on the corner of 153rd Street SE and Main Street. It will proceed northbound along Main Street, then onto North Creek Drive until it intersects with Dumas Road. Participants will run along the south sidewalk on Dumas Road before connecting to North Creek Trail southbound. Those running will return to North Creek Drive by the Mill Creek Sports Park and will head to the finish line along the road. Walkers will continue south on the North Creek Trail until just short of 153rd Street SE. All participants will finish on Main Street in Town Center.

One block of Main Street south of 153rd Street SE, from University Bookstore to Cold Stone Creamery, will close at 6 a.m. The race route will close at 8:40 a.m. and will reopen by 10 a.m. Vehicles will be allowed to cross Main Street throughout the duration of the race when runners are not present. The start and finish line area of Main Street will fully reopen by 11:30 a.m.

Race entry fees and donations support several charities and youth sports programs. One of the main recipients is the Providence Cancer Patient Assistance Fund at Everett’s Providence Regional Cancer Partnership to help people who are in cancer treatment. Thanks to participants and sponsors, more than $300,000 has been donated to this fund over the years. Other recipients are local youth sports programs that need community support.

Free parking is available in Mill Creek Town Center and at Heatherwood Middle School, 1419 Trillium Blvd SE in Mill Creek.
