Art and Beautification Board on the Lookout for Great Gardens in Mill Creek

Do you have a green thumb? Do you take pride in having color and texture in your garden throughout the season? The City of Mill Creek’s Art and Beautification Board kicks-off the review of Mill Creek gardens this month for its annual Great Garden Awards.

“This tradition in Mill Creek is meant to promote the beauty within our community and gives amazing gardeners some bragging rights,” said City Councilmember Donna Michelson, who serves on the board. “It also encourages homeowners to demonstrate pride in maintaining curbside appeal and help neighborhoods flourish.”

Art and Beautification Board members will be on the lookout for great gardens from May through mid-July. A decision on the top 12 great gardens will be announced in July and proud residents will be given a yard sign to display through the remainder of the gardening season. The winners also will be given a keepsake award and publicly recognized at a City Council meeting in September.

All gardens in Mill Creek will be considered for the awards. No application is required.

The Art and Beautification Board serves to enhance the aesthetics and beauty within the City. For more information, visit
