Image of Award Presentation

Marci Chew was recognized at the Mill Creek City Council meeting on Feb. 28 for 15 years of service to the City.

Chew has been the City’s surface water specialist since 2002, and is one of the key people behind the scenes in the Public Works department. One of Chew’s primary duties is to ensure ongoing compliance with the City’s NPDES storm water permit, including the large number of reports and documentation that must be submitted to the State Department of Ecology each year.

Chew also performs regular stream sampling for water quality tests, responds to citizen storm water issues, coordinates education efforts and manages the annual catch basin cleaning program. She is very passionate about her job and is committed to preserving and restoring salmon habitat in the Mill Creek area.

She is an active member of the City Wellness committee. Outside of work, Chew enjoys good wine, gardening and her new kittens.
